DESCRIPTION:The Soup Kitchen In Provincetown (SKIP) will host its annual “Souper” Saturday lunch on December 4\, from 11:30am until 2:30pm\, at Tin Pan Alley\, 269 Commercial Street\, Provincetown. For $8 per serving\, the public is invited to enjoy a 12-ounce cup of hot\, hearty soup provided by one of more than 30 local restaurants and other businesses. A cash bar will be open and piano entertainment provided. \nTakeaway quarts of cold soup will be available for $15 just steps away at the Firehouse\, 254 Commercial Street\, where SKIP merchandise such as T-shirts and mugs will also be available for sale. \n“‘Souper’ Saturday is a popular annual event\, and it brings SKIP much-needed funding to help our volunteers operate this remarkable community resource\,” said Philip Franchini\, chairperson of the SKIP board of directors. \n“It’s also a great way to get into the spirit of the season of giving.” \n  \nHOW is a proud supporter of SKIP and the tremendous work they do to feed the people of Provincetown… including our staff! \n  \nAbout SKIP \nFrom November through April\, SKIP serves hot\, nutritious meals weekdays at the Provincetown United Methodist Church\, 20 Shank Painter Road. SKIP meals\, served from 12:30pm until 1:30pm are free of charge and open to anyone in the community. The soup kitchen estimates it will serve more than 15\,000 meals during its current season. \n“Our lunches can assist people on fixed incomes and help fill the gap in a winter economy that stretches the budgets of those with seasonal employment\,” said Mark Bjorstrom\, SKIP’s vice-chairperson and treasurer. “Besides offering a place for the delicious food our volunteers prepare and serve\, SKIP helps build a sense of community\, which is particularly important during the winter months when people sometimes feel isolated.” \nThose unable to attend “Souper” Saturday who’d like to offer their support may send a tax-deductible donation to SKIP at PO Box 538\, Provincetown\, MA 02657\, Attn: “Souper.” Donations may also be made via the website skipfood.org. DESCRIPTION:Helping Our Women and b\well will be hosting a personal care products drive from 10/22 – 10/29 to stock the personal pantry at HOW. We will be collecting soap and body wash\, shampoo\, conditioner\, toothbrushes\, toothpaste\, deodorant\, and toilet paper. \nWe will also be hosting a tag-a-friend contest on Instagram! Stay tuned to see what you could win! \nPersonal care items for donation can be dropped off at the Eastham library\, Eastham Superette\, Provincetown Library\, Provincetown Stop & Shop\, b\well or HOW! \nIf you’re in P-Town\, you can also stop by on Friday 10/22 to see us in person at b\well or Firehouse or on Saturday\, 10/23 at Stop and Shop. \n  \nWhy are we holding a personal care drive? These particular items are not covered by SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) and the need for no-cost personal care products has only increased since the pandemic began. HOW helps fill that gap by keeping the personal care products pantry stocked and available to all community members on the Outer Cape. Thank you for supporting our program!
