DESCRIPTION:Helping Our Women is excited to invite Outer Cape residents to participate in our Community Drum Circle! Everyone in the community is welcome to attend – please click on the link below to register in advance as we have a limited number of drums available. If you have your own djembe drum\, please consider bringing it with you! \n\n\nRegister Here to Reserve Your Spot!\n\n\n\nWhy should you join our drum circle?\nHave fun\, destress\, and build community! Learning and sharing music is a great way to build social connection. Drumming has also been shown to decrease inflammation\, anxiety\, and stress – it’s a great way to have some fun and heal your body and mind at the same time! Come boost your immune system and meet  new people! \n\nMore Important Information\n\nYou can register for one\, two\, three or four sessions.\nEach session will be led by drummer Sam Holmstock and held in the backyard garden at Preservation Hall in Wellfleet. If it rains\, the program will be moved to Preservation Hall’s indoor Geiger Hall space. \n This program is free for clients and volunteers of Helping Our Women with a $5 suggested donation for the general public.\n\nIf you have any questions or are experiencing any issues completing the registration form\, please contact Elise at elise@helpingourwomen.org or call the Helping Our Women office at 508-487-4357.\n\nPreservation Hall: 335 Main Street | Wellfleet MA | 02667 | 508.349.1800. In addition to his work with ENTRAIN\, Sam has had the honor of playing music with artists such as Babatunde Olatunji\, Bo Diddley\, Gil Scott-Heron\, Kate and James Taylor\, Bob Weir\, and even Bill Clinton. \nA Berklee grad\, Sam is currently on the faculty of Cotuit Center for the Arts and brings therapeutic drumming to many special needs communities via his organization Drum Strategies For Healing. Drum Strategies For Healing serves Autistic Adults\, Memory Care patients\, Teens at risk and involved in the Juvenile Justice System\, PTSD Vets and the brain injured among others. \nhttps://samholmstockdrumming.com/

DESCRIPTION:Helping Our Women to offer free workshops on “Balancing Change & Managing Life Transitions” this spring.  \nIn the wake of the pandemic\, many of us had to make major life adjustments. Join HOW Executive Director\, Gwynne Guzzeau\, for an interactive workshop where you will learn tools to manage the change events in your life so\, they don’t manage you. \nThe workshop is scheduled for Thursday\, June 16th from 1:00 – 2:30 PM at the Truro Public Library. \nOne of the goals of HOW is to inspire and educate women to take control of their healthcare\, well-being\, and diverse needs.
