Meet Leah, a single mother, Provincetown resident, and preschool teacher in Wellfleet who gets support from us to cope with multiple sclerosis (MS).

In the 1970s, Erna participated in consciousness-raising groups to amplify the voices of women living on the tip of Cape Cod. Decades later, the artist turned to HOW for help meeting her health and wellness needs and told Cathy that knowing HOW is there for her gives her peace of mind.
“I have no family here. I have wonderful friends, and I get by, but if anything were to happen, just knowing HOW is there, it is a good feeling. People get more lonely as you age because in your 90’s your friends pass away, so for me, HOW is a way to stay connected. The difference HOW is making – it goes out into the world to make an impact.”
Erna is grateful that HOW is here to support her and others on the Outer Cape. Her journey with HOW is a testament to the power of our community, of which you are an invaluable member!
To help support women like Erna, please consider donating to HOW in the next 30 days – a $20,000 match fund will double your generosity!
