This VISTA member will work to strengthen HOW’s volunteer program through volunteer engagement, community outreach, and partner collaboration. The VISTA will recruit and maintain a network of volunteers, implement volunteer management tools, and raise awareness within the community about programs and opportunities offered by HOW. AmeriCorps VISTA members commit to one year of service and receive a bi-weekly stipend and additional benefits. This VISTA will work to implement and sustain a local food system to improve health and nutrition outcomes and decrease food insecurity for clients of Helping Our Women and members of the community. The VISTA will develop and implement HOW’s food pantry policies, recruit and train volunteers to distribute food, and cultivate and maintain connections between Helping Our Women and local food sources. AmeriCorps VISTA members commit to one year of service and receive a bi-weekly stipend and additional benefits. The primary purpose of the Client Services Manager is to oversee HOW’s direct client services by enrolling women living with chronic or serious health conditions in HOW programs (e.g. transportation, financial assistance, food access, technology), educating them on available community or government resources, and providing them with support and guidance to help address the challenges they are experiencing on their individual healthcare journeys through 1:1 consultations, or by facilitating support groups or health and wellness programming in collaboration with other staff or external program providers.
